National Children's Book Week #1

This week is National Children's Book Week, a week that celebrates books for kids of all ages. But why a Children's Book Week? Well, as they say on their website, "it all began with the idea that children's books can change lives."

This couldn't be more true.

There is nothing like watching the sails of a child's imagination unfurl while reading or being read to. There is no frigate like a book, indeed. And few people are more willing to explore the uncharted waters of a good story than children.

This week, I'll be sharing with you some of my very favorite children's books, old and new. And I want you to do the same! Leave a comment here all week (or leave a message on Facebook or Twitter) and mention a children's book your little one enjoys, or a book you loved from your childhood.

At the end of the week, I'll choose three lucky winners at random who will receive a gift set from the fantastic Yoga by the Dozen (you remember them) which includes the Yoga by the Dozen DVD and kids' tee shirt. This is a seriously cool giveaway, Mamas. Each gift set retails for around $40, so make sure you don't miss this one.

And stay tuned for some of our favorite children's books, all week!
